Talk about a slap in the wrist. The Patriots only will get fined and lose draft picks. You must be kidding me? They tried to cheat and this is called punishment. It is a joke. The team should have been forced to forfeit their opener and the coach should have been suspended for a good number of games period.

The Patriots are laughing and who can blame em. You really think they are going to be hurt with draft picks? Guess what. Their front office is shrewd and savvy. They know how to find solutions. They will get by without the picks, folks. They are not the Minnesota Timberwolves in which they don't have a clue what to do in crisis.

If this happened to a small-market NFL team, would they get away with it.

The Patriots are some f*cking cheaters. They have been for sure videotaping EVERY FREAKING GAME! Amazing they didn't get a bigger punishment.

The worst thing is that they have real chances of getting a Conference Championship at least...

:gripe:

Really? How have they "cheated?" When did they actually use tape during a game. In fact, nobody has any evidence of that, do they?

Oh, and it was posted a while ago, but as for that "slap on the wrist," that's quite a slap. $500,000 that Belichick personally has to pay. (No...the team is NOT going to pay for him. The league will make sure that does not happen, and the Krafts wouldn't do it anyway.) But think about the draft pick. Do you really think that the illusory benefit of picking up signals, something that EVERY team in the league has done at one time or another, is worth the ENTIRE CAREER of a potential superstar #1 pick? The penalty is extremely harsh, if anything. Imagine, Indy losing the entire career of Peyton Manning. Or the Steelers losing the entire career of Big Ben. Or the Giants losing the entire career of Eli Manning....okay...bad example, but you know what I mean.

to be honest, not getting first pick sucks though esp since teams go thru rotations for that....so its gonna be a while till they get any new good players

Who knows how long they have been taping games. That is the tough question because there is no way to prove it unless there are actual tapes.
