After the embarrassing tirade Milton Bradley went on that cost him the rest of the season, it appears that the umpire, Mike Winters is also being suspended for the remainder of the season. I was curious to know what everybody had to say about the incident. In m opinion, it's upsetting that an umpire would try to inflame a situation by calling a ballplayer a name, and I was pleased to see him suspended. Frankly, I would put him on a short leash, and if it happens again, he should lose his job.

I agree completely. I feel that umpires are out there to control the game and make sure the rules are followed. There should be little or no interaction with the players, let alone intentionally trying to pick a fight. He should be put on a short leash.

This is an old thread, but who is glad that Milton Badley is gone?
I am.
I was fed up in that last play of the season when Bud had to pull him back. It made me sick and shameful to be a baseball fan, let alone a Padre fan. He was long ago out of control and should have been benched long before.
I just don't get the tolerance for the bad boys in the game, especially given all these outrageous salaries. I guess I am just old school and not very forgiving for un-sportsman like conduct. Zero tolerance on my end.
