SEATTLE -- The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder Shannon Stewart on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday night with a right hamstring strain, and called up outfielder Brian Lesher from Triple-A Syracuse of the International League.
Stewart missed his sixth straight game as the Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-1. The move is retroactive to May 1.
Right-handed pitcher Steve Parris was transferred from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster for Lesher. Parris has an injured throwing shoulder.
