ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers placed outfielder Carl Everett on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and optioned right-hander Rob Bell to Triple-A Oklahoma.
Everett, hitting .173 with five homers and 16 RBIs in 28 games, injured his right calf muscle running to first base Saturday. The move is retroactive to Sunday.
Bell, the losing pitcher in the Chicago White Sox's 11-6 win over Texas on Tuesday night, was recalled from Oklahoma on April 27. He was 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA in three starts.
The Rangers also recalled right-hander Francisco Cordero and outfielder Kevin Mench from Oklahoma
