Mark Mulder - S May 8

The A's are listing Mark Mulder, who is on the DL with a strained forearm, as Friday's starter.
``He doesn't hurt and seems to be a little stronger now than he was before the (elbow) injury,'' trainer Larry Davis said.

Glad to see him back! And glad to have missed him this series. He always kills the Sox.

Fyhrie was optioned to Sacramento of the PCL to make room for Mark Mulder.
For all those with Mike Fyhrie in your starting lineup, it is safe to bench him now. hehehehe:)

Mulders velocity isn't there tonight.
Bluejays score 4 runs in the second inning.

I'm sure he's just rusty. I really like the dude.

The A's are having serious internal discussions about whether Mark Mulder will make his next scheduled start next weekend in Toronto. Some of the decision makers think he shouldn't be pitching when his velocity on his fastball is down nearly 5 mph (when healthy 94 mph). Others think he is the best option anyway.

Mark Mulder had only normal soreness after Friday's start, but he will have his next appearance pushed back at least two days.
Erik Hiljus, who usually has his starts pushed back, will get to work on normal rest this week. Mulder's velocity is down after a battle with a strained right forearm, but the A's were expecting that. He isn't likely to go back on the DL.
