Story just came across the wire, here is what the Sporting News had to say about it. You might want to monitor this situation closely. Tankersley could warrant a pickup if you are in need of pitching help. I wouldn't waste a top waiver priority on him, since that should be reserved for Mark Prior, who also should be called up very shortly. If you can't get Prior, then take a serious look at Tankersley. Jake Peavey is another Padre pitching prospect to watch for in the near future.

Tankersley has been called up from Double-A and will start in place of injured Kevin Jarvis on Friday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Tankersley was 2-1 with a 2.64 ERA at Mobile (30.2 innings, 28 hits, including a homer, and a 30-14 K/BB ratio).
Fantasy Spin: If Tankersley is 100 percent, he's one of the finest pitching prospects in baseball--with a mid-90s fastball and a wicked slider. He had problems in the spring, and there was talk he was suffering through elbow trouble. In deep leagues, take a flyer on him now, but in shallow leagues, see what he does before nibbling.
