The Playoff Picture became very clear this week. Seven of the 8 divisions have been mathematically determined with only the AFC North title still up for grabs. Minnesota eliminated 4 NFC teams from wildcard contention with their victory on Monday Night. All of the first round byes have been determined as well. The Patriots clinched the AFC’s Home-field Advantage throughout the playoffs. Miami managed to stop being perfectly imperfect by beating the Ravens and thus denying me a chance to witness history. Speaking of witnessing history, I had the privilege of traveling in a snow storm this week to watch Brett Favre break Dan Marino’s NFL yardage record on Sunday. It was an incredible experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I hereby present to you a recap of the fifteenth week in the National Football League.

The Cam Cameron Award (Excellence in Coaching): I’ll go with Brian Billick of the Baltimore Ravens. It isn’t so much that he could have gone for it on the one foot line and won the game in regulation rather than going for the field goal and losing in OT. If you can’t even beat the Dolphins you have really bottomed out as a Head Coach. End of discussion. I also believe he needs to be let go. While he was 13-3 just a year ago and has previously won a Super Bowl, he looks like he has lost that team. They have never been able to have any offensive consistency during his tenure. If you look at his recent track record, it just isn’t very good. Since the Super Bowl season of 2000, the Ravens are 59-51. They are 1-3 in the playoffs and that win came in 2001. They have two 10 loss seasons in the last 3 years and have missed the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons. While I think that Brian Billick is a good head coach and deserves another chance, it needs to be somewhere else. Both parties are in need of a change.
