Well, pp, how do you see the Eastern Finals? I'm worried about the number of offensive options NJ has. Kidd, Martin, Kittles and Van Horn look better than our C's top four. The Nets also have somewhat of an interior presence in McCullough (sp?).
Sure Pierce and Walker can score with anyone, but after that? Rogers can be productive as can Kenny Anderson, but are they as explosive as the Nets top guns? Delk came on in the Detroit series, but can we expect more of that? Bench scoring could be huge in this series. The C's did win the regular season series, so that's a good sign.
It's been a long time since I've been this excited about the Celtics. I still haven't adjusted to their Pitino-esque offense, but I realize nearly all the teams play this type of offense in some sense.
PP, you are a veteran C's fan like me, so let me ask you this. Do you think this particular era of NBA ball reminds you of the Seventies? It just seems to me to be very similar. It's hard to explain, but from nearly every angle the league seems the same as it did thirty years ago.
PS- Thanks for giving the Pistons some love. They really were a hard working, fun-to-watch, darn good team this year.

Trots-Detroit scared me more than anyone else in the East. Celts took 3 of 4 from the Nets this year, Pierce has averaged 38 points against them. Unlike Philly, they have no ANSWER for him.
If the C's can take one in Jersey,(which they will) they'll win the series no problem.
I liken Jim O'Brien to Bill Belichick, he seems to be able to draw up a "D" for every team. I'm really impressed with how he's handled this team. This is the YEAR of the UNDERDOG, and the Celts are going into this series with a ton of confidence.
I agree about the 70's, the NBA is in a flashback mode.
I'll elaborate about the match-ups later, I gotta go eat lunch. I think we'll see a lot more of McCarty this series.
Could anything be better for the NBA than another Celts/Lakers series? David Stern must be ecstatic.
