The good news ...
Clark Griffith, nephew of Calvin Griffith, and part of the the family that owned the Senators and the Twins for many years says he is going to try to form a group to buy the Twins. Clark worked for the Twins from the mid-60's until the team was sold to Pohlad.
The bad news ...
Carl is an prick. Clark has made two other efforts to check into buying the Twins and Pohlad won't even grant him a meeting. Carl, for some reason despises the Griffith's. He even made poor old Calvin pay for his box in the Metrodome to watch the team. Said it wasn't in the purchase agreement, so Griffith had to pay like anyone else. That wouldn't be so sad but usually at least a quarter of the boxes are vacant on a given night. I'm sure Carl still carries a grudge because the fans up here wouldn't let him have the full credit for the two World Series titles, since the whole core of the team was signed and developed by the Griffith regime.
Well, maybe this time ....
