C.C. Sabathia is currently finishing off a complete game against our putrid bucco's.
I don't know why I decided to check this forum out, it sure has been a while. I see no one has posted anything since May, not even around the time of the trades (the Bay trade was ok, I didn't care for the other one - in case anyone was wondering).
Anywho, those really stung. We went from the best outfield in the National League (a fairly young one too) to this.
I don't know...I just don't know. The 5 year plan seems like 10 million years ago. And we still don't look so hot for the future. I have to say, this Alvarez thing doesn't help, but you know what? Baseball is to blame for that. The players union has its grip around the near lifeless throat of the game.
The draft is supposed to help out the teams that have been losing by giving them the higher picks, but many players do not want to play in the smaller markets because of the bargaining agreement that doesn't allow them to compete - so what's the point?
I'm still following the Bucs (I'll go to my grave reading the box scores every day) but I'm probably not going to bother with even the world series anymore unless someday, miraculously, things change and this league becomes watchable again.
