Pitching coach Joe Kerrigan expects Pedro Martinez (sore right shoulder) to begin playing catch next weekend even though Martinez is not expected to return for at least a month, according to The Boston Globe. Pete Schourek (inflammation of the left elbow) is due to pitch in the bullpen on July 16 and throw batting practice on July 19 in Toronto. And Frank Castillo (strained muscle in his back) is expected to start throwing off a mound again early next week.
