Cablevision? Time Warner? DirecTV??
i have cablevision and i f*cking hate that i don't get the damn YES channel and the skank games:angry: (not that i wanna see the skanks in particular, but through them, i'd get my boston/oakland/seattle fix! now i can't! :crying2: )
so imma have to switch........ i'm leaning towards DirecTV but first i wanna find out what people think of it...... is it expensive?? does it get interrupted alot when the weather's bad? etc.
well, i have a feeling imma break down and end up getting it anyway..... i really miss watching boston and oakland games...:ohno:

I have DirecTv and it is not expensive at all.....For $40 a month I get tons of channels.....Actually my basic package is $30, but then I add an extra $5 to add local channels that are not on the package then I also added $5 more to get another 20 channels on a family pack that has more stuff for Austin, cartoons, pbs, etc....Plus the extra I pay for the Baseball package which if there is a strike I wont have to worry about next season:angry:
Anyways, mine is put up on the side of my house and very rarely goes out unless there is a servere storm...I would say it goes out less than my cable ever did.....

OMIGOD!!! that is so inexpensive!!!!!:uhoh:
i have a feeling though that over here it will probably be in the $50 neighborhood (at least)......but that's still not a bad deal with all those channels......

from what I have seen, direct TV is pretty much a fixed cost anywhere you go. That is part of their marketing strategy.

Yeah I think Shawn is right......
It doesnt compete with other cable companies in the area...It is a satellite dish so I think all their packages are set prices....
The only bad thing is that you can have only 1 tv hooked up to see it unless you splice the cable and hook it up to another tv but you would still have to go to your main tv to change the channel....Or you could just buy a dual reciever but it would cost a little more to have it hooked up to a 2nd tv if you needed it...No sure on the price.....You may be able to find out more by going to DirecTv (www.directv.com)

sometimes, you can actually find packasges where you can get the 2nd receiver for free. My brother's have two of them. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. Their 2nd one was free.
