Hitting Wilson second is just plain out stupid. He's been in a slump for six weeks now.

5-3 final. Two games under .500, off day tomorrow and a double header with the Cubs Tueday.

i don't think it was a bad lineup actually. See, Pokey hits better lower in the order. Or so it seems. By putitng him back in the #8 spot, it sort of forces you to put Wilson at #2. You can't have Young/Reese/Wilson batting 6/7/8.

Very happy with Chad in the leadoff spot... his OBP is .390 and he is taking pitches, getting walks and even his out have been hard hit. We are watching him as he begins to come of age... at the right age. After almost blowing him away by rushing him, he is blossoming right before our eyes. What a great play in center tonight, too!

Jack Wilson was embarassing to watch at the plate and putting him batting second is a disgrace. Noonie would be a better option in the 2 hole IMO.

where do you play nunez??

Wilson plays much better defense than Nunez, and as for the two of them, there has not been much difference offensively either this season.

Jimbo I think you are right. And I was surprised to learn from the announcers that Chad is just 24. For some reason I had him pegged at 26. I was impressed with his discipline at the plate. If he can lay off the breaking stuff away that he used to chase and draw walks, he may well have the position locked up for the next decade. And to think that A-RAM is just 24 as well, and that the average age of the Young Guns rotation is 24.5. Now if we can fill in a couple of holes with bats..........

Watching Hermansen play has been something to watch. It seems like every game he makes something happen. Like 32 said, I am very impressed with the way he is laying off the breaking pitch. That has been his achilles heal, and he seems to be getting over that.

Shawn, Wilson does play better defense. However, I do think Nunez would make all the routine plays and his fair share of above average plays. When you weigh in what Nunez has done before, I really think you have to run Nunez out there for 7-10 games to see what he does offensively. If he hits .210 and struggles in the field, then so be it and go back to Wilson. But if he can hit .250-.260, I certainly think you have to consider playing him as desperate as this team is for offense.

That being said, I'd prefer a lineup like this until Rios comes off the DL:

1. Hermy CF
2. Nunez SS
3. Giles LF
4. Aramis 3B
5. Wilson 1B
6. Kendall C
7. Mackowiak RF
8. Reese 2B
9. Pitcher

I think that lineup is a big improvement over what we have now with virtually three automatic outs in the lineup (KY, Reese, J. Wilson) and Armando Rios, who has played a good bit of RF but is slugging .298 at last check.

Josh, I couldn't have said it better myself.
