GAME #45 FINAL SCORE = DETROIT 5 - CLEVELAND 1 @ COMERICA PARK

BASEBALLS:
Mark Redman - First career complete game. First victory as a Tiger. Against the Cleveland Anemics, of course!
Dmitri Young - Home run, 2 RBI to supply all the Tigers really needed.
Randall Simon - 1 for 3 and one RBI
Chris Truby - Becoming a Certified Indian Killer with his glove! Another fine stop to initiate a 5-4-3 DP in the 8th. One hit, also with 1 RBI.
Ricky Gutierrez - one walk, one sac bunt, 2 hits, starting to come around with his bat. Nice couple of stops on defense as well.
Travis Fryman - 2 for 3. Has quietly had a 6-game hit streak.
Chad Paronto - Nice relief work for 3 innings, surrendered 1 unearned run. Retired 9 in a row at one point.
GOOFBALLS:
Matt Lawton - continues his total impatience at the plate. 1 for 5, with the hit being of the infield variety on the first pitch. Grounded out meekly to first on a 3-1 pitch in the first inning. After the Ricky sac bunt in the third, runners were on 2nd and 3rd, one out. Lawton promptly pops it up in the infield. Also ended the game on a first-pitch-swinging fly out. No discipline at the plate. You're also looking like an error waiting to happen in right field.
Bruce Aven - Joins the MLB-leading team in GDP's with #54 in the third. Also had a first pitch fly out, and another fly out in the 6th with two men on. No wonder you've spent so much time in the minors.
Jim Thome - Struck out with bases loaded in the third. Weak fly out in the 7th with runners in scoring postion in the 7th. Two hits started with insignificance.
The Offensive Offense: The Anemics left 11 on base for the game, 7 RSIP.
Charlie Nagy - at least you went 3 innings before pitching batting practice in the 4th. But you can sue your teammates for lack of support along with the others. Hey, you're the player rep, right? File a law suit against your batters.
Cleveland Dumb Ball Indictment: 51 runners LOB in the last 5 games.
Putrid. Rank. Foul. Yecch. Aren't these players embarrased already???
