HOUSTON (AP) -- Shortstop Alex Gonzalez was activated from the disabled list Saturday after missing two weeks with a strained left hamstring.
Gonzalez was hitting .259 with three home runs and 17 RBI when he was injured May 9. Chicago optioned infielder Augie Ojeda to Triple-A Iowa to make room for Gonzalez.
In another roster move, the Cubs placed left-hander Ron Mahay on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 23, with tendinitis in his left shoulder.
Right-hander Courtney Duncan was recalled from Iowa, where he was 0-3 with two saves and a 4.50 ERA in 16 games.
