The Trenton Thunder (Boston affiliate) won 2-1 in 12 innings.

Adrian Burnisde was dominant, pitching 7 innings, 3 hits, and 9 strikeouts. I don't know how many he walked. Not many though.

Neil McDade pitched the eighth, and had a strikeout I believe. He could be a decent pitcher. He tops out at 91-92 and has a decent offspeed pitch.

Chris Spurling pitched 2 1/3 innings. He relies heavily on his fastball. I'd say he threw 25-30 pitches, and had 20 fastballs. He throws 87 and has a good slider ... when he uses it. He left with one out in the eleventh when he took a line drive off his right hand.

Jim Doughtery finished the game and sucked. He walked four guys and allowed a hit and two earned runs in 1 1/3 innings. The last game I went to he gave up three runs in less than an inning. Besides that, he's had a decent ERA. Maybe I should just stay away when he pitches.

In all, there were 11 strikeouts in 12 innings.

The Curve had 7 hits.

Alvarez had two singles but was picked off late in the game with no outs and Washington hitting.

Shawn Garrett had two hits and a homer in the twelfth. He homered to leftfield with two outs.

JJ Davis, Kevin Sefcik, and Washington had the other hits.

Thanks for the update GHAS. Looking at Spurling's build you'd think he'd have more velocity. Let's hope Burnside keeps developing. He's a LHP isn't he?

Burnside is a lefty, yes.

I love the way he pitches ... he is fearless. First batter of the game last night, he had an 0-2 count on the leadoff hitter and knocked him down. He did that last season back to back against two of the league's best hitters, Mike Rivera and Eric Munson.
