. . . is follow this game up with a few more wins and get a little streak going.

I think we have a chance. Benson tomorrow, Wells on Wednesday, (I'll be there by the way, so if we lose you know who to blame), Anderson on thursday, and hopefully he will win because I am expecting Fogg to bounce back big in his next start.

I would really like to at least go .500 this season, which I still think is completely possible.

It's absolutely key to win NL Central games from here on out, especially against the Reds and Cards. As much as I would like the respectability that a .500 season would bring Pirate fans, I'm more concerned with seeing players develop--Kendall returning to being a .300+ hitter, Giles building on his last three seasons, Jack Wilson becoming a complete ball player (is .260 too much to ask?), Aramis proving that last year was not a fluke, Hermy showing that he belongs at the top of the order and in CF everyday, Benson, Wells, Fogg, Vogelsong, Williams, Lincoln continuing to become winning ML pitchers, etc.

If most of these things happen, 2003 will be a much better year for us as fans and 2004 when we unass KY and Meares ridiculous salaries and maybe JJ Davis, JR House,Tony Alvarez and Rico Washington are on the ML roster is even better.

Not much to ask for is it?
