The Oakland A's activated pitcher Cory Lidle from the disabled list Thursday. Lidle had been sidelined since May 13 with inflammation in his right shoulder. He is scheduled to start Friday night's game at Tampa Bay. To make room on the roster, the A's optioned pitcher Erik Hiljus to Triple-A Sacramento. Hiljus was 0-3 with a 10.69 ERA over his past four starts.

Lidle hasn't pitched very well this season either after going 13-6 with a 3.59 ERA for the Athletics last year. He's a sleeper pickup or trade for candidate right now.
