Who is the better all-time coach?

Auerbach. He won 9 with the same team and the same core of players. Jackson won 8 with two different teams, and he came in ready-made situations. Auerbach had to build his up.

Red...As milky_way said, Jackson has always inherited very talented teams....The thing with Phil is that he is a very good motivator which to me is different than a X's and O's kinda guy.....

I'd love to see what Phil would do if say he were to take on the Knicks and start from the ground up......
How convienent that he left Chicago when Jordan and company left.....:hmm:

yea and it seems like thats what seperates Jackson from Red. He has never really had a true test. The worst team he had was probably 95 with MJ gone most of the year and Horace Grant and Bill Cartwright(i think) gone, etc. It was still a very good team though. I dont think he would be as good if he had to try to build a team.

No doubt Auerbach. Jackson is a wonderful motivator, but that does not make him a good coach.

For the record, james, Michael and company left AFTER Jackson did. MJ had said he would retire if Jackson wasn't resigned. He wasn't, so Michael retired..

I am not voting in this poll.

Yes but is it not true that he already knew that this team would be split up and know MJ was not going to return?????

nah if jackson came back MJ and crew would have too. But Jackson wanted to "retire."
