Rookie shortstop Ramon Santiago hit his first MLB homer tonight. He led off the Tigers half of the first with a bomb off of Pedro. I knew he wouldn't hit .400 forever, but Santiago continues to impress.

Dmitri Young extended his hitting streak to 16 games and I think Higgy's streak is at 12 games.

Pedro spotted the Tigs a 4-0 first inning lead, but they gave the lead back to the AL leaders. The Sox now lead 6-5. Trot Nixon is eating up Tigers picthing, again (RBI single, HR). He has been great against the Tigs especially here in Detroit.

Santiago has actually homered twice this evening. Not bad for a little guy in a pitcher's park. I can't believe I missed the second dinger.

The Tigers have come back to tie the game on an RBI single from Magee.

He was actually brought up for his defence! Great guy. A little better than Deivi Cruz:biggrin: . I still like him more than Omar Infante.

Santiago went yard again to lead off the game tonight. That's three in two days. What impressed me the most was his second AB. With two runners on (first & second) and nobody out, Santiago bunted the runners along. No swinging for the fences, although he was on a tear, just move the runners into scoring position. This youngster is rapidly becoming my favorite Tiger.
