Cubs pitcher Matt Clement was named the National League Player of the Week today.
Clement went 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA last week. He allowed only seven hits and struck out 14 over 16 2/3 innings in two starts, including a two-hit shutout against the Pirates. He gave up two runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings in Sunday's 4-2 victory over Houston.
Clement won the award for the first time in his career.
