MINNEAPOLIS (TICKER) -- Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Rivas made his presence felt in his return from the disabled list.
Rivas went 4-for-6 with five RBI and matched a club record with five runs scored in the Twins' 23-2 rout of the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.
Rivas had been sidelined for 55 games with a broken bone in his left wrist. He suffered the injury on April 4 after getting hit with a pitch by Dan Reichert of Kansas City.
The 22-year-old Rivas, in his third season, matched Hall of Famer Paul Molitor's club record for runs scored in a game.
To make room for Rivas, Minnesota designated infielder Jay Canizaro for assignment. Canizaro was batting just .214 with no homers and 11 RBI in 38 games this season.
