Class AAA Colorado Springs (41-54) lost 10-7 at Calgary (Florida affiliate). Kip Gross (1-7, 5.71) allowed 10 runs, six earned, on 11 hits and two walks and struck out five in six innings. Butch Huskey (.327) went 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Class AA Carolina (11-11 second half, 42-50 overall) lost 6-5 at Huntsville (Milwaukee). Doug Thompson (0-2, 3.06) lost in relief of Josh Kalinowski (3.97), who allowed four runs, on seven hits and two walks, striking out five in six innings.
Class A Salem (12-14 second half, 45-49 overall) was off.
Class A Asheville (15-10 second half, 41-53 overall) lost 9-2 against Columbia (New York Mets affiliate). Scott Cohmann (6-10, 3.85) allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk, striking out three in six innings.
Short-season Class A Tri-City (12-16) lost 3-2 in 10 innings at Spokane (Kansas City). James Tricolor (0-1, 3.86) suffered the loss in relief of Scott Nicholson (1.65), allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five in six innings.
Rookie Casper (12-18) won 5-3 at Ogden (Milwaukee). Jay Mitchell (2-1, 5.64) allowed one run on five hits and struck out three in six innings.
