Yeah, and that was the D-backs first trip to the post season. The Whalers FRANCHISE have been in the post season plenty of times and have gotten spanked every time. :hmm:

Dude, you can't forget from your team's history. I'm a St Louis Rams fan. Do you think I discredit the years they spent in Cleveland or Los Angeles? Your team is not new. They spent 20+ years in Hartford, most of which were utter failures.

I'm sort of the same way. But it's kind of hard, not knowing much about hockey, in Detroit. Especially when i've got 2 good friends who play/ed in the minors

Thanks, pp. I appreciate you looking out for my best interests.
Tigers #1, you are right, if you don't follow hockey around here, you do seem out of place. Don't be forced into it though. Pick whatever sport/team you want. Basically, be like Floyd.
Btw, Floyd, you aren't fooling me. You may be a baseball fan, but you are THE tennis man. Sorry, about Jen today.

Yup, I was wrong! I think the Canes sweeping at home will be a monumental feat. But who knows. That's why they play the games.

Whatever. :hmm:
As Baboon said, you sure were posting a lot in this thread when Carolina went up 1-0. But now, you're not in this thread because this is a Red Wings thread. You can't have it both ways, Floyd.
And don't give me that crap you don't care about hockey. If you care enough to celebrate when they went up 1-0, you should care enough to take the criticism when they went down 3-1.

Floyd, I always enjoy a conversation about sports, especially when my team is in it. I can take the heat when my team loses. Being a life-long Red Sox fan helps you grow a thick skin. But I hate when people gloat when their team is up, and then stop talking when they fall behind. If the Wings were down 3 to 1, I'd still be in here talking to you, and mostly likely getting blasted by you. Next time your team jumps out to an early lead, try to have a conversation about it, instead of just having a "Ha ha, my team is better than yours" attitude.

i dont talk to myself if someone in here was then i owuld be.. and you say gloating? umm no... just saying what you said was WRONG!

If you care enough to celebrate when they went up 1-0, you should care enough to take the criticism when they went down 3-1. thte only reason i was celebrating is bc just about everyone in here expected carolina to win none.. and the only reason why i was actually posting in here is ONE ppl were posting nad TWO i watched that game!

Well, I think I got the general idea of Floyd the Barber's post. Typically, he was wrong.
He said something about everyone expecting the Hurricanes to win. Well, Tigers #1 was the only person I saw (skimmed the first two pages of another thread) who said the Wings would win in four.
Floyd the Barber, you said you watched game one since that's why you celebrated. Wrong. You said you watched the game where Detroit won 3-1.

I also picked the Lakers in three.

You ignore that whole post because of one little error. Classy Floyd the Barber, classy. Let me say this again so you can't dodge it.

Honestly, I haven't had much to say. The Wings loss in Game One certainly didn't inspire me to converse. While talking about the consecutive games won since would have only appeared to be gloating.
I'm an old school, paranoid fan. I don't talk much trash and try not to bash an opponent (note the word try). I'm very happy to be one game away from a Wings Stanley Cup, but I'll be happier when Detroit has four wins, not three.

Something about Toronto just seems to really press trying not to bash them, right Brian?
