TORONTO (AP) -- The Toronto Blue Jays hired Bruce Walton as their bullpen coach on Friday.
Walton replaces Gil Patterson, who became the pitching coach when Mark Connor decided to leave the Blue Jays on Wednesday, two days after manager Buck Martinez was fired.
Walton had been serving as the Blue Jays roving minor league pitching instructor, a position he's held since 1998.
