Friday June 7th
With the Reds trailing 4-0 in the fourth inning, Griffey pulled up lame after hustling to first base on a fielder's choice grounder in the fourth inning. Angels team physician Dr. Craig Milhouse examined Griffey, who is day-to-day with a mild strain of his right hamstring.

Hopefully it is nothing serious. He can be used asa DH for the next 5 games, given he can still run a little. If not and he is seriously hurt, but the Reds continue to play well, I really don't care. As long as the Reds are winning.

Even without Griffey they are loaded with outfielders. Encarcion will again play full time. Where do they plan to use Russell Branyan (OF,3B)?

If Griffey goes down for a significant amount of time then the Reds will play the outfield how they did before he first came back. If they want to get Branyon at bats what they will probably do is give Casey off days and play Dunn at first and Branyon in right or left. If Casey's hamstring keeps bothering him this would enhance that situation even more. What the Reds need to do is develope Branyon and then trade him off for some pitching.
