is that a lot of depth or not i dont know much about your players. is starting pitching the worst point for them now with neagle out with a hammy injury and hampton junk? seems like you have plenty of left fielders at least:biggrin:

hehe, lots of LF's. Tonight, Ochoa will be the 10th person to start in LF for the Rox. Every since Hollandsworth went down, LF has been the black hole for the Rockies. Ron Gant was supposed to be the man to back up that position, but he had the fielding skills of Dante Bichette and the bat of Mrs. Mantle, and has since gone to Oakland. No one the Rockies have put out there has done the job, and that's a big reason why the Rockies are in such a deep hole.
As far as depth, the Rockies don't have a lot. Right now, besides the LF situation, the bullpen is killing the Rockies. Although they haven't really needed a closer, they don't have one (as the loss last night proves - bottom of the nineth with two out and a one run lead and end up losing 2-1). The bats aren't hitting, Cirillo especially. The starting pitching has been giving the opposition a comfortable lead in the first few innings - the guys on the bench can't field or buy a hit.
Things just aren't clicking, which amazes me, considering who is on that roster. I mean guys like like Walker, Helton, Hampton, Cirillo, Perez...how can this team be so bad????
I split this thread from the depth chart so I could keep the chart "neat" and uncluttered. I just forgot to lock it when I updated it yesterday.

hey i used to feel the same way about the pirates how could a team with the likes of kevin young derek bell and pat meares be so bad;) but i have since come to my senses and learned the other teams are just so awesome that it doesnt matter who the pirates have on there team others have observed also, every day the pitcher against the bucs is cy young:uhoh: :uhoh:. hey it just seems like the rocks are feeding off each others non production. maybe if a few of them get hot they will pick it up again. and if the pitchers start it up again no reason to beleive this will continue. just a combination of everybody stinking at the same time. look at the pirates we all thought they owned the celler and they have since risen out of it :P

I agree 100%, that bad play begets bad play. The thing is, the Rockies 25-man roster was pretty much set in stone last January. Not many teams were in that position. It's too bad they don't just play the games on paper, lol. At least the Pirates had a pretty good excuse for falling behind early - your whole rotation was going under the knife, for cryin' out loud. I am glad to see the Bucs playing better these days...and remember the '51 Giants - it can be done!

thanks for the encouragement what you post is true. no reason to think next year or even this year a good streak cant come along and reverese at least some of the damage.
