I have a question.

1961 was of course the year of Roger Maris.
He hit 61 home runs.

But if I recall, didn't the leauge batting leader bat .361 that year? and didn't the RBI leader have 161 RBI?

Actually you are correct about the average part as Norm Cash of the Tigers did hit .361 but the RBI leaders were Maris and Jim Gentile who both had 141 RBI's that year....
