PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Philadelphia forward Derrick Coleman will have arthroscopic surgery Tuesday on an injured left knee that sidelined him for 13 games last season.
Coleman, who was second in scoring for the 76ers last year, will have the operation at the Hospital for Special Surgery of New York. Dr. Russell Warren, the New York Giants' team doctor, will perform the procedure.
The team didn't say how long Coleman will need to recuperate.
Coleman played in 58 games last season, averaging 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He missed 21 games because of injury.
He hyperextended the knee in a game with Toronto on Nov. 25, then was nagged by the injury and a ruptured cyst in the same knee. Toward the season's end he sat out several games, attempting to rest the knee for a playoff run.
