Well, being that I have some inside sources, it seems rather definite that Rolen will be traded or a real attempt at a trade will occur by the trading deadline. Now, the latest rumor I have been told from inside the organization is the Mets seem to be the most likely suitor because
A) they can afford Rolen's salary
AND
B) they have the player the Phillies need...Edgardo Alfonzo
The only reluctance to trade for Alfonzo is the fact that they will be helping the Mets, whom are ahead of the Phillies in the NL East race. The organization does not neccessarily want to help them in the current position or have Rolen staring down their throats the next 10 years. However, it may just be in the Phillies best interest to get SOMETHING for Rolen, and who knows, Alfonzo may be just what the Phillies need. Stay tuned Mets and Phillies fans!
