Bottom of the 3rd.

It appears that the Pads, on the 2nd go round in the order, may have figured R-Lo out. Most of them were swinging on first pitches the first time up, then, top of the third, the bats started connecting: single, double, then an intentional walk, then a single that scored 2 before the madness ended.

Now, it looks like the O's have to figure out Brian Lawrence.

Well, guess they haven't yet.

4dyce, Jerry Hairston, and Mighty Mel all went down swinging.

:uhoh:

Top of the 4th:

Kevin Barker singled.

Deivi Cruz flied out.

Barker stole 2nd!!! (See, if Bordy were in there, that never woulda happened... )

Tom Lampkin grounded out to Co9, but Barker went to 3rd. (Aaaaaargh!!!!! Somebody stop him!!!) :hmm:

Then Julius Matos struck out swinging.

Bottom of the 4th.

Gary Matthews Jr. pooped out to shallow left. :ohno:

Chris Singleton grounded out to 2nd. :ohno:

WOOHOOO!!!! Co9 SINGLED!!!

Oh, poop. Gibby flied out.

*sigh* Well, that was interesting.:hmm:

Aaaaaaand, R-Lo gets through the top of the 5th, 1-2-3.

Line out to 9er.

Ground out to Jerry.

Line out to Gary M. in right. (Gibby's DH today.)

Very nice work, R-Lo!!!

So, here we are, bottom of the 5th.

Tony B leads off the inning with a single hit sharply to left. (I don't know if it was hit sharply... I'm looking at this on the computer... I just like the phrase, "he hits that sharply to left!"... )

Marty Cordova goes down swinging.

(What is this guy throwing?!?!?!?)

4dyce at the plate.

And he flies out.

Jerry Hairston Jr. lined out to 1st.

That's it. The O's go down, bottom of the 5th, leaving poor Tony B. stranded.

*sigh*

Top of the 6th, no one scored.

Bottom of the 6th, no one scored.

Top of the 7th, R-Lo still pitching.... so far we've had a DP, HEY!!!!! BORDY'S IN THE GAME!!!!! WOOHOOOO!!!

:jump: :jump2: :luvkiss: :lust:

And now, back to the game.

2 out. Matos flies out to center.

Okay. Bottom of the 7th. LET'S SCORE SOME RUNS, BOYS!!!

The bottom of the 7th has been and gone, and they didn't hear me, apparently. They didn't score any runs. Jay Gibbons doubled, which was exciting, but that was it.

:ohno:

And here we are in the top of the 8th, and Mark Kotsay has grounded out to Jerry at 2nd.

D'Angelo Jimenez has flied out to deep center

And here we have Ryan Klesko, who ...... also flies out to center.

Okay. Can we score some runs now?!?!?

WOOHOOO!!!!

Bordy waits for his pitch, and on a count of 3-2, sees something he likes, and singles.

There were already 2 outs, though.... 4dyce flied out to right on the 2nd pitch. And Jerry Hairston Jr. flied out to left on the 2nd pitch he got.

Now we've got Gary Matthews Jr. fouling them off
...... dang. He grounded out to 1st, on a 2-2 pitch.

Bordy.... stranded.

Poop.

*sigh*

:ohno:

Final score: Padres 2, Orioles 0.

The Padres never scored again, after that fateful 3rd inning. Unfortunately, the O's didn't score either.

This guy Brian Lawrence... pitching for the Pads. What a performance! Trevor Hoffmann closed it out for the Padres. It looked like the O's might pull this one out. Chris Singleton singled, Co9 struck out looking. Gibby walked. So there were two guys on. Brian Roberts went in to run for Gibby. Tony B came to the plate... the go-ahead run... and popped out to 1st. Then Marty Cordova struck out looking. He just stood there and watched them all go by, 1-2-3.

:ohno:

Nuts.

R-Lo lasted the whole game, though, giving the bullpen a rest. Except for that one inning, he was fierce!!
