RENO, Nev. -- Point guard Mike Bibby wants to return to the Sacramento Kings, hasn't watched the NBA Finals and is already getting ready to take on the Los Angeles Lakers next season.

"I haven't watched it. I see the score and that's probably it," Bibby said Wednesday about the championship series.

"Everybody on the team still thinks we should have won that series. Our confidence level is still growing. We think we're going to be ready for next season."

Bibby said he'll open negotiations with Kings' management July 1 and is anxious to return to the team.

"I love Sacramento," he told reporters during a teleconference announcing his plans to play next month in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe.

"The only thing we didn't accomplish was to get into the Finals. We played the Lakers tough every game and we still think we should have won.

"Each series is going to help us down the road. If we come back and play like we did in the playoffs, I think we'll have the best record in the league again."

The Kings have to re-sign him. They can also offer him more money than anyone else, so if he wants to return, it's all but a done deal.

i thought it was a team option anyway. If so, there is no chance they wouldnt pick it up.

i don't think there's any question Bibby will return. the Kings came soooooooo close to practically winning it all, and he's the main reason. The Kings should lock him up for a long time :)
