uploading images

I want to change my avatar at another site. The other site is alot like this one (prolly the same host). The image is on my hard drive and I cant upload it. I must be doing something wrong. Can you help?

Without knowing the site you are referring to it might be difficult to help you. However, if it is the same as this one simply:

Go to 'user cp' (top right)

Then 'edit options'

Scroll down to the bottom to 'change avatar'

Check the 'custom avatar' box

And where it says 'you can upload an avatar from your computer' click the browse button and locate your image on your hard drive.

Once done, click 'submit modifications'

You probably already knew that already but I hope it helps.

Its not the same host.
It asks for URL and my computer doesn't have a URL.

You may enter a URL to choose an avatar that is on your own website. The URL MUST begin with http://
You may enter the width and height of your avatar. Please note that any value over the maximum allowed size in pixels will be resized to the maximum size. Leaving them blank will resize the image to the maxiumum size.
(Maximum Width = 120 pixels | Maximum Height = 79 pixels)
Your avatar
The following file types are allowed:
.gif .jpeg .jpg .swf
Avatar Dimensions Width x Height

Okay Jay, I get ya. This site won't let you upload the file to their server they will only grab their avatar images from url links.

If it is a personal image that has not been found on any website and only exsists on your computer you will need to upload that image to a server and direct it there.

If the image is this one at addicts you could diect it here by right clicking your avatar here and selecting 'properties'. Then copy and paste the url at pigskin.

The other way would be for me to upload the image to my server and you can direct it there. My only concern is with it effecting bandwidth on my server. However, I do have a free 6 MB of webspace with Earthlink I could use.

Just give me the url of the image and the size you want it and I repost it here for you.

I can't remember where I found it on the net. So the only copy of the picture I have, is saved on my computer. I don't know how to mail it to you. I think I know how to AOL IM it to you. Tell me how to send it.

At a different forum that I frequent, I will use the Raider Pig avatar. All the senior members are called "HOGS" and all the junior members are called "Piglets". My current status is "Pork Cutlet".
