Sosa climbs to 19th on all-time homer list

CHICAGO -- Sammy Sosa hit career home run No. 475 on Friday, tying him with Stan Musial and Willie Stargell for 19th place on the all-time list.


The only other player now between Sosa and the 500 mark is Lou Gehrig, with 493 homers.


Sosa's major league-leading 25th homer came in the third inning, a two-run shot to dead center off of White Sox right-hander Jon Garland. Sosa has now homered in three straight games, and has six in the last 10 contests.
