I'm going to post a poll so we can have some discussion on our opinions on the All-Star players.

In my opinion, the fans shouldn't have vote the players based on their popularities or all Expos and Twins players to "prevent" the contraction, OH PLEASE! :hmm: I always vote for the players based on their skills they demostrate on the field and in the batter's boxes, period! That's my opinion.

Please discuss this.......

Well I have a few thought myself on this....

1st, do I think the fans should be able to vote-YES
After all it is a game for the fans and they should have a say who plays....If it is by popularity only then so be it....

2nd, do I vote that way??? Actually no....When I vote online I actually, if I'm not sure, will hit the compare stats button and choose the player having the best year.....Sometimes I will go with my heart like I voted for Piazza for catcher although there may be another player more deserving.....

But I did a write in for Konerko in every ballot I voted on since Thomas was listed as the 1B and Konerko DEFINITELY deserves to be in.....

So I usually vote for the most deserving but think fans should vote for whom they like....

I dont think voting should be based on popularity. I mean, cmon! Moises Alou was 5th in voting among OFers for a while(not sure if he still is), but thats just a joke!

I'm glad people are voting for konerko, though, and givin him the recognition he deserves. His name better be on the ballot next year!!

I don't vote for who I like, BUT, I will purposely NOT vote for someone I dislike.

Is that the same thing?

You should vote for whoever is the most skilled all around at BASEBALL. Not the most popular. Its not a popularity contest, its a contest of skills. I vote for the best at every position. However, I'm not saying you shouldn't vote for the people you like. They could be deserving of it.

When I vote I vote for the good players that play for my team. And I belive that you do to.

It's my belive that it isn't as much the voting of Popular players rather then the Popular players play for the Yankees,Mets,Dodgers.

And young talented more desiving players are still with the small market teams that drafted them and that they player for a smaller market team that have fewer fans and sence of that fact the fans of a small market team has a less a say then the fans of a big market team.

And I truely belive that you could get a more desiving team of players if they set up the way the votes where counted in a way where fans of each and every team had a equil say.

I too have never submitted one. I have filled one out for fun before a game to see how well I would have done, but I didn't submit it.

It's pointless. One vote doesn't make a difference, and half the time who's elected to start doesn't have as good of numbers as someone else.
