I've finally read something about Burba that I liked:
his status as a Ranger is under some thought!! Hicks, Hart, and Hershiser were all in Chicago to watch him pitch, and will continue to carefully monitor his next few starts.
I really hope they dump him, and go with one of the young guns, like Lewis or Ramos. If we're going to have a pitcher with a sub .500 record and crappy ERA, it may as well be a youngster who could use the experience.

I thnk the expectations of Burba were too high. He is doing his job as getting us the innings. Just not full of 0's in those innings. He is older, has less velocity, and the hitters don't fear his stuff. I don't think the Rangers have a pitcher with that intimidation factor. Hitters are teeing off on our SPing, and the Bullpen, well that just sucks royally!!!
I don't know what to do with Burba.

Dump Burba....I mean he's not doing terrible or anything, but Colby Lewis or Joaquion Benoit could do atleast just as good probably better. I don't know if anyone would take Burba but if they would trade him now. No reason to keep him. And I would look into trading Ismael Valdes. He's been very good for us you know for around 6 innings. A team with a deep bullpen could benfit from him greatly. So if a good offer comes up I'd trade Valdes too. This would be my rotation by the end of the year:
1. Chan Ho Park
2. Kenny Rogers
3. Colby Lewis
4. Doug Davis
5. Joaquion Benoit/Rob Bell

Why on earth would we trade Valdes?? He's one of our better pitchers so far this year!! We have to keep him, and i dont think his salary is too high, so there's no reason to get rid of him.
Burba however, has to go...despite a solid start against the Cubbies.

I agree Valdes is doing very well with us, but he has no option for next year so most likely he'll re-enter the free agent market and want more money and he'll be asking for too much. I think we could get some pretty good players inreturn from a contender. And I just don't really think he's all that great I mean he'll throw you 6 or 7 good innings a game usually, but not just a dominator and I dont' really like his attitude, he doesn't seem like a real team player. He's always whining about not getting run support :crying2: How about trade him to the Reds along with someone else for Austin Kearns? Think that could happen? Or to the Twins for some younger players.

There's no way we'll get Kearns!
I can almost guarantee that..hes one of their cornerstones for the future!

Well I've heard he's beenon the trading block. Because they want to keep Griffy, Dunn, and they think Encarion or Mateo is a player too. So maybe but doubtful.
