Found this little tidbit in today's Washington Post.
---------------------------------------
Believing he should have been charged with an error in Tuesday night's seventh inning on Quinton McCracken's sinking liner, Orioles shortstop Mike Bordick asked the official scorer to review the play after the game. An error call would have changed one of the runs (B.J.) Ryan allowed to an unearned run.
"I felt it was a routine play I should've made," Bordick said.
After reviewing the play official scorer Rodney Johnson stood by his "hit" ruling, although he was impressed with Bordick's honesty -- particularly with a 51-game errorless streak (which grew to 52 Tuesday night) on the line.
"I don't think I've ever had a player ask to have a hit changed to an error," Johnson said.
