It seems to me that whenever I sign a player in my league because he's hot, he goes in a slump. For example, Chris Singleton, I dropped him in a slump and he goes 3-4 with a homer tonight. And then there Adam Piatt, I signed him when he was hot and now he's cooling off so I signed Kevin Mench to replace him. I know it's all a matter of luck and timing with fantasy baseball but it still gets annoying sometimes.
Don't get me wrong, I have great players like Darin Erstad and Magglio Ordonez but this flavor of the week crap is wearing me thin.
Now as for my pitching staff, I've been lucky. They aren't the best but I've had lady luck on my side. My staff is as follows : Rodrigo Lopez, Mike Mussina, Jeff Weaver, Paul Byrd and Travis Driskill as well as Sasaki and Guardado as my closers.
I know with the trade rumors it would benefit me to hold on to Weaver. It seems like Lopez is cooling off, hence his terrible performance tonight. Mussina is still a good bet and Driskill seems to be holding his own but Byrd has imploded and other than his one run win the other night he has been doing terrible.
The guys in my league are morons who don't trade anyone so I must ask if there is anyone I should keep my eye on. I've had the worst luck with middle relievers/new closers. I signed Osuna and he gets shelled so I drop him for Cordero and he gets put on the DL. It's kinda funny I guess.
I'm sorry about this long post but I had so much to say and any help would be appreciated.
