View Full Version : Bonds vs Kent

A day after the Giants' smackdown of the superstars, Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent retreated to their usual spots, in separate corners of the Giants' clubhouse. They assumed very different poses.
Bonds snoozed in his recliner, refusing to speak to the media. Kent did address reporters, with his backside.
"Other than that," the second baseman said, after sarcastically praising a column calling for him to be traded, "this is what I have for you." He slipped his thumbs into his waistband and lowered his drawers. Then he bent all the way over, producing a baseball rarity -- a full moon leading off a day game.
Kent, with his contract expiring, his image in free-fall and his pants around his ankles, can't count on a future with the Giants. Fighting with Bonds won't be enough to send him into exile, but he'll need a lot more clutch hits to buy the privilege of being cantankerous.

Actually, I think they are coming together after the ordeal. They are playing great and the clubhouse is back to normal (whatever normal is).
Jeff Kent was on the pregame show today talking about the scuffle, mooning the reporters, his 6 RBI's yesterday, his talks with Dusty and Bonds and other teamates.
Its buisness as usual again.
Kick their butts Oakland!

did Ratto write that?
Kent is loving it right now - he's getting a ton of pitches and he is a free agent next year ... he isn't going anywhere this season.
He's just as big of a prick with the media as Bonds if not even a bit moreso ... Bonds won't even respond ... Kent gives them attitude if he's in a pissy mood.
The one thing the Giants can count on is that Kent wants to be a free agent ... he is killing people in the 3 hole and he needs to keep doing that if he wants big bucks from another team next season ... the Giants want him to keep doing it so Barry will see a few more and perhaps they go on a second half run and make it a bit closer ...
It all seems to be clicking over the past week ... I say Barry should beat his ass some more ... I mean crack him in the jaw with the elbow pad or something.

Some chic named Gwen somethingortheother from the S.F. Chronicle wrote that piece about the full moon before a day game. I don't think she is sports writer. I believe she writes commentary for different section of the rag. Not sure though, I hardly ever read the Chronicle.
Dirt you like to write, check this out and tell me what you think.

That is a pretty cool article ... I just thought you had this message board here - I hadn't seen the rest of the site. Very cool!!!!!
I gotta say as I was nearing the end I was glad I hadn't read the words "Jim Rome" .... or as I refer to him "Red Dome (like the one in my pants) but I suppose it is kinda hard to write an article on smack without including him.
I guess you gotta give him his "props" for making "chris" everett come unglued back in the day ....
really good analagies on how wrestling is 100% smack ...
Still for me, the biggest smack statement was Joe Namath's guarantee of W in the Super Bowl ... but like he said "It ain't braggin if you can back it up"
another good point was the fact that when "running it" - the use of profanity is not necessary ... especially against a smackee that relies on it ... a solid mind with strong vocabulary will win every time.
thanks for pointing me towards that

I would plunk down some cold hard cash to see the much anticipated "Jim Rome vs Chris Everrett" pay per view rematch.
My money is on Chrissy.
I'm rookie. That was my 1st and last article. The rough draft was pretty crude, so King Fish (he's the pro) helped me write it. He polished it up real nice. Maybe someday I'll make a part 2, the sequel.
