There is an unconfirmed report that THOME did NOT leave Boston, and is still here. Atlanta is here now, and Thome has asked to do an interview on Cleveland TV Friday. Just a rumor, but I'm betting Thome is a Brave.

Again, just a rumor, but The Boston media has contacted Cleveland media, and The Cleveland media said that The Indians requested an interview of Thome on his behalf. Maybe to say goodbye.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Jim Thome has not yet been asked to waive his complete no-trade clause. Therefore, this can not be a true rumor.

As for the Indians trading Thome right now, the reason I do not believe that they will is because that will leave them with no one to play 1st base.

Thome, with a no-trade clause, would have to give his approval to any trade. Speaking before the Colon trade was made, Thome said: "I don't think people realize how much I want to stay in Cleveland. When you sign on with a team, there's an obligation to fulfill that deal. I don't want to go anywhere. A lot more goes into this than just baseball."

Thome, like Colon, was signed and developed as an Indian.

When asked if he would be willing to re-open negotiations some time this season, Thome said: "I can't answer that right now. But I don't want to move. . . . All the rest of that stuff will take care of itself."

Don't worry Vin, I'd be shocked if he went to the NL. I kinda feel bad for Thome, he wants to stay, but Cleveland wants to deal him. Oh well. Not my prob.

the good thing for Thome is that no matter how mucghh Cleveland wants to trade him, it is his choice..
