View Full Version : Last Night

Okay so we took the train downtown last night and got to the ballpark about 6. From the looks of it, it was a Yankees home game... they were selling jerseys of Jeter, Giambi, Mussina, Clemens, Soriano, and the rest right outside the stadium. But the only O's players they had were Erickson, Ponson, and Richard. Plus it seemed like 75% of the fans there had some sort of Yankees paraphernalia on... I was pretty mad about that but it always happens that way. Of course we headed straight to the box office and they are saying the only seats that are left are scattered singles! That certainly upset us. Oh well, so we got some standing-room tickets. I bought a knockoff Erickson jersey and a barbecue sandwich and then we went to find some empty seats. As it was already drizzling, we headed straight for the seats under the roof in left field. Luckily, we were sitting in 2 seats which nobody ever claimed, so it was cool. Then after the top of the 1st it started to pour and they put the tarp out. Needless to say we were upset with the rain delay and hoped it would pass over, but we were glad to be under the roof. Anyway, after awhile the game started back up. A group of about 9 Orioles fans filed in to the seats right next to and in front of us. One was particularly loud and boisterous, who sat right next to me. I was glad to have some backup, because the section directly in front of us was filled with loud Yankees fans who liked to tell us how much we sucked. My friend who went with me is not really into the yelling, so it was pretty much me and 2 or 3 other guys vs. about 8 screaming Yankee fans the entire games. They had their posse too so they had the "lets go Yankees" cheers goin on while we unsuccessfully tried to drown them out with "Yankees suck" cheers. The best part though was the personal insults that the guy next to me kept yelling at the Yankee fans... making fun of their hair, shirts, etc. I definitely joined in on those a few times, fingers and all. Oh yeah and the O's lost the game. Too bad, but it was a good time once the rain died down.

Hey!!! You ended up getting a good seat for the game! Too bad all those Skank fans have to invade every single stadium where their team plays, and it seems they even take over the vendors. :hmm: :scream: Seems like you held your own against them, though. :clap1:
You saw a really good Scotty performance. Too bad about that Giambi guy, though. But it was a tight game.
So, Bordy has now tied his own personal record of straight games without an error? That's what I heard on TV last night. I think last night made it 59.... ummm... I gotta check that out, though.

Obviously, my "shouting" GO O'S is not working.
As long as Tank isn't playing, I don't care if the Phillies win or lose and, because my Mets just stink right now, I'm rooting for the O's to take this series and keep my boys from ignominy.

Yes, Julie. I feel the same way.
Yikes! Big Mo just hit a huge dinger!!! 2-runs score!!!
(Oops. Wrong forum.)
And I love that the word "ignominy" has been used in this thread.

When the Mets were here in San Diego some guy at the game was yelling at a guy behind him saying "Theres no money in this town. You guys have a good Chargers team in '94 and you can your quarterbacks ass. 1998 you win the NL championship and you can Kevin Brown's ass...." and so on and so forth but i cant help but think he was right.....
