The Angels placed right-handed reliever Al Levine on the 15-day disabled list June 28 because of inflammation in his right shoulder and demoted left-hander Scott Schoeneweis to the bullpen. The Angels replaced Schoeneweis in the rotation with right-hander John Lackey from Triple-A Salt Lake. "I don't really have much of an argument," said Schoeneweis, who hasn't pitched in relief since 1999 when he made all 31 of his appearances out of the bullpen as a rookie. "Whatever's in the best interest of the team. If this is for the betterment of the team at this point, and it helps us get into the playoffs, that's what I'll do. Maybe a little time off, a little different perspective or whatever will help."
