I think this will be the official Geronimo Thread.
Heard during the game last night that his nickname in the clubhouse is The Chief.
Fits.

Hmmmmm. Well, poop. The lovely pix of the Mighty Chief seem to have disappeared and have been replaced by red x's. Hmmmph. Yahoo seems to not be supporting this anymore. Dang. Lemme try something else.

Hmmmm. Now the red x's have disappeared, but the pictures are back, and I had replaced one of them, but I replaced the wrong one, so now I have two of the same picture.
Oh, well. Never too many pictures of The Chief, even if they are the same one. :lust:
And here's a little tidbit for The Chief's thread, from the Baltimore Sun:
Stop sign
When Orioles catcher Geronimo Gil threw out Mike Young trying to steal second base Friday night, it marked the fifth consecutive base runner he had nabbed. The Orioles, for comparison, had stolen 12 consecutive bases at that point.
Besides the strength in Gil's throwing arm, Hargrove gives credit to the pitchers.
"Our release times are quicker," he said. "[Travis] Driskill is consistently 1.2 [seconds to home plate]. Other guys have slide steps that they've incorporated. It's something we've worked on and paid attention to. It's been a point of emphasis to get pitchers to vary and lessen their release times."

Okay, a little edit on The Chief's defense..... The Orioles have been successful on 12 of their past 13 stolen base attempts; catcher Geronimo Gil has thrown out each of the past five would-be base stealers and has nailed 32.7 percent this season, second-best in the American League. :uhoh:
Um.... hello!!! And he's a rookie!!!! :uhoh: I'm predicting..... this guy's gonna be a major star. (And I'm not just saying that because I love him. :lust:  )
After going 2 for 4 last night, with 2 runs, and one walk, his BA stands at .264.... he had 2 doubles.
