HOF and the MVP

Of all HOF PLAYERS (not managers--not a trick question) who began their careers after WWII, who were the only 3 to never place in the Top 10 in the MVP balloting?

Pardon me, let me edit my question....

There are only 2 players to have done this....
The 3rd was Satchel Paige, and there can be debate as to when his career actually began (1948 with Cleveland, or earlier in the Negro Leagues).
At any rate, the answer is now 2 players.

I am gonna go with Don Sutton....

and I have looked at every single Hall of Famer elected since 1959 as a player.. and for the life of me, i can not find the other one.

Iahhh... wait... I found it. There was a cluster of 3 players who I failed to look at because I thought.. hey.. it wouldn't be them... turns out, I could have saved myself a heck of a lot of time and mental anguish.

Nolan Ryan.

IMGreat,
I did the exact same thing when I made this question -- I almost skipped Ryan because it had never occurred to me that a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer would have never placed in the Top 10 for the MVP....pretty interesting, huh?
Yes, and the other person is Sutton (no surprises there)
Good work

that question was driving me crazy, so I just started looking. I found the list of hall of famers and just went down through. First I checked players elected by the Vets committee, because it seemed logical to me that chances were good that the answer would be there.. but nope.. and I went through and there was a cluster of Ryan, Yount, and Brett. I skipped it. Wasn't until later that I went back. I was extremely surprised though to find that some guys had finished in the top 10. or even won in some cases. I think though that what surprised me the most was the voting in '51 and '54 I believe.
