Well, it doesn't look like there will be major changes in Major League Baseball, at least not for next season.  Even after Commissioner Selig said change was 'inevitable', schedules are about the be approved for next year and they are just like they've been before.  That mainly means there won't be an expansion of the post-season for 2012, which is what some thought would happen.  Basically right now, it doesn't matter if you finish first or are the Wild-Card.  You're chances are very similar.  The thought is that adding a Wild-Card team to the mix will making finishing first mean more and provide a more exciting finish to the end of the regular season by adding more teams in the hunt for those spots.  I think they will start these changes in upcoming talks and start them in 2013.  This could also spark realignments and other big changes to the current system.

I think some realignments are needed by no one is going to want to.  They've got to even out amount of team in the leagues and divisions more.

Looks like I may be thankful for the Wild Card 'era' if the Yanks pull it out.  But I'm hoping the Sox have a great September and rock the playoffs!
